About the Role
Certified traffic control officers needed for construction zones, corporate campuses, and large-scale events across Southern California. Must hold a valid California Flagger Certification and BSIS Guard Card. Experience managing traffic flow in high-volume or construction environments required. Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Traffic control is physical, high-visibility work that requires confidence, clear communication, and the ability to make fast decisions in environments where vehicles and people are moving around you. Traffic control officers at Solo Security Corp manage vehicle and pedestrian flow at construction zones, corporate campuses, large-scale events, and any high-volume location that requires professional oversight. This is a role where your presence and authority directly prevent accidents. You'll work from a detailed traffic management plan developed for your specific site, under the direction of our operations team, and in coordination with site managers, event organizers, and local authorities where required. No two days look exactly the same — and that's what makes this role one of the most active and important in our operation.
Responsibilities
Direct Vehicle & Pedestrian Flow Body: Using clear hand signals, flags, and verbal communication, direct the movement of vehicles and pedestrians safely through your assigned area. Every movement you guide is a potential accident you're preventing.
Manage Construction Zone Safety Body: At construction sites, enforce zone boundaries, manage equipment and vehicle access, protect workers from passing traffic, and ensure the site remains compliant with California road safety regulations throughout your shift.
Control Event & Corporate Site Traffic Body: At events and corporate campuses, manage entry and exit flow, prevent parking lot and access road congestion, maintain pedestrian crossing safety, and coordinate with venue staff and event management teams.
Screen & Control Vehicle Access Body: At sites with access control requirements, screen vehicles entering sensitive areas, verify credentials or permits, and enforce access policies — adding a security layer to your traffic management role.
Respond to Incidents & Changing Conditions Body: When conditions change — an accident, an emergency vehicle approach, a sudden crowd surge — you adapt immediately, manage traffic around the situation, and coordinate with emergency services to ensure the area remains safe.
Complete Shift Documentation Body: Log your shift activity, any incidents, and site condition observations using our mobile reporting platform at the end of each shift. Accurate documentation is part of every role at Solo Security Corp.
Requirements
Required: ✅ Valid California Flagger Certification (active, not expired) ✅ Valid California BSIS Security Guard Card (active) ✅ Valid California Driver's License ✅ Clean background check ✅ Ability to stand and work outdoors for full shift duration ✅ Ability to work in varying weather conditions — heat, wind, cold ✅ Strong verbal communication and clear hand signal technique ✅ Professional appearance and conduct at all times
Preferred (not required): ⭐ 1–2 years of traffic control or flagging experience ⭐ Experience at construction sites or large-scale events ⭐ CPR/First Aid certification ⭐ Bilingual English/Spanish
Availability: Day and evening shifts are most common. Weekend and event-based shifts frequently available. Full-time and part-time positions open.
