About the Role
Experienced patrol officers needed to conduct scheduled and randomized vehicle patrols across commercial and multi-site properties. Must have a valid California driver's license with a clean driving record, a valid BSIS Guard Card, and the ability to work overnight and weekend shifts. Experience in mobile patrol security strongly preferred.
This role is for security professionals who are self-directed, alert, and comfortable working independently across large areas. You'll be behind the wheel of a marked patrol unit, conducting strategic sweeps across commercial and multi-site properties — and you'll need to be ready to respond decisively when something happens.
Vehicle patrol officers at Solo Security Corp cover large commercial properties, industrial facilities, multi-site corporate campuses, HOAs, and construction sites across Orange County and Los Angeles. You'll conduct both scheduled and randomized patrols — checking perimeters, testing gates, verifying lighting, and maintaining a visible presence that deters criminal activity across your entire coverage area. When incidents occur, you respond. When you spot something wrong, you act and document. This role requires maturity, independence, and the judgment to make the right call in the field without someone standing next to you.
Responsibilities
Conduct Scheduled & Randomized Patrol Routes Body: Execute patrol routes across assigned properties on both a scheduled and randomized basis. The unpredictability of your sweeps is a core part of the deterrence value you provide.
Perform Perimeter & Gate Checks Body: Systematically check fences, gates, doors, windows, and lighting at every property. Identify and document any breaches, damage, or tampering immediately.
Respond to Incidents Body: When alarms trigger, when suspicious activity is observed, or when incidents occur on your coverage area — you respond. Fast, professional, and following documented escalation protocols.
Coordinate with Control Room & Supervisors Body: Maintain active communication with our control room and field supervisors throughout your shift. Report activity, check in at intervals, and relay information clearly and accurately.
Log All Patrol Activity Body: Document every patrol sweep, gate check, and incident using our mobile reporting platform in real time. Your shift log is a legal record — it needs to be accurate, detailed, and submitted on time.
Maintain Your Patrol Vehicle Body: Keep your assigned patrol vehicle clean, fueled, and in proper working condition. Report any mechanical issues immediately. The vehicle is your tool — treat it accordingly.
Requirements
Required: ✅ Valid California BSIS Security Guard Card (active) ✅ Valid California Driver's License — clean driving record (no DUIs, no reckless driving, no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years) ✅ Clean background check ✅ Ability to work overnight and weekend shifts ✅ Strong situational awareness and independent judgment ✅ Professional appearance and conduct
Preferred (not required): ⭐ 2+ years of security experience, specifically in mobile patrol ⭐ Experience covering large commercial or industrial properties ⭐ California BSIS Firearm Permit (for armed patrol positions) ⭐ CPR/First Aid certification ⭐ Prior military, law enforcement, or first responder background
Availability: Overnight and weekend shifts are the highest need. Full-time positions with consistent scheduling.
